1) What are Far Infrared Socks?

Prolotex™ Socks emit Far Infrared energy waves that have healing properties. That is what makes them different from just regular socks.

2) What are Prolotex™ Socks made from?

Prolotex™ Socks are made with a special polypropylene thread that has been impregnated with Bio-Ceramics. Read more about bio-ceramics here.

4) Do Prolotex™ Socks relieve pain?

Numerous clinical tests conducted on the efficacy of other far infrared products have concluded that they can significantly help to relieve pain. Customers who wear Prolotex™ Socks have reported convincing pain relief from numerous types of ailments including: arthritis, rheumatism, carpal tunnel syndrome, numbness of extremities, sports injuries, circulatory problems, and more...

5) How long do the socks take to work?

Prolotex™ Far Infrared Socks start working as soon as you start wearing them. Some customers report an immediate change (within 20-30 min), while others have noticed a more gradual transition over a longer period of time from a few weeks to a few months.

6) What if I don't feel any changes?

Everyone feels slightly different sensations from the bio-ceramic socks. The majority of customers who wear Prolotex™ Socks tell us they feel the soothing energy and pain relief within 15 - 20 min. If you do not feel anything, do not be alarmed as the healing FIR energy is still working. If you are extremely dehydrated, then it may take awhile before you start to feel the beneficial effects.

7) Are there any side effects?

There are no known negative side-effects from wearing Prolotex™ products. As the body rids itself of old toxins and residual buildup, some individuals may experience some initial detoxification symptoms. For example: heavy smokers may react with a mild skin rash. This is usually a good sign the Prolotex™ Socks are working. If you continue to experience prolonged symptoms, discontinue using the product and contact your physician.

8) How often do I need to wear the socks?

For best results, we recommend wearing Prolotex™ Socks, as often as possible. Socks can easily be worn night and day. Socks are classy enough to be worn as your regular dress socks.  Socks have enough cushioning to be used for your athletic activities, too.

9) What do Prolotex™ Socks feel like?

Socks are soft and calming. Short pile on the inside of the foot part of the sock makes for cozy comfort. Nice smooth toe seam that won't rub on your toes.  Read more about how socks fit here.

10) How thick are Prolotex™ Socks?

Prolotex™ Socks are thicker than a thin dress sock, but are thinner than a sports sock.

11) How long do Prolotex™ Socks last?

Life span of a pair of socks is approx. 6-12 months. This will vary depending on how often you wear and wash them. The efficacy of the Far Infrared emissions will last for several years - longer than the rest of the sock!

12) How many pairs of socks should I have?

We suggest you have at least two pair, so that you can wear one pair, while the other is being washed and air-dried.

13) Can I buy just one sock?

Prolotex™ Socks are sold in pairs.

14) What colors do Prolotex™ Socks come in?

Prolotex™ Socks come in Black for now. More colors will become available in the future.

15) How many models of socks do you have?

We carry two (2) models. The original "Comfort Fit" and the new "Relaxed Fit" model of Prolotex™ Socks. More Prolotex™ Far Infrared Sock models are being developed for the future.

16) What sizes do Prolotex™ Socks come in?

17) How often can I wash Prolotex™ Socks?

You can wash Prolotex™ Socks every day, if you need to. We recommend:

• Hand-wash or use a gentle cycle in cold water (below 15 C or 60 F).
• Detergent or mild soap can be used.
• Air-dry in room temperature. Avoid heat and direct sunlight. 
• Do NOT dry-clean, iron or bleach.
• Do NOT put in the dryer.

18) Will the FIR Socks still work if they are wet?

Yes, the FIR emitted from the Socks will still work if they are a bit damp or wet. The Moisture will not affect the Infrared Rays, provided it doesn't get HOT, like a battery-operated gadget.
