Frequently Asked Questions about
Far Infrared Technology

  1. What is Infrared?

  2. What is Far Infrared?

  3. What is the difference between Near Infrared & Far Infrared

  4. How deep does Far Infrared penetrate the skin?

  5. When was Far Infrared energy from minerals discovered?

  6. What are Bio-Ceramics?

  7. How are Bio-Ceramics made?

  8. How do clothes give off Far Infrared?

  9. Will the Bio-Ceramics diminish with washing?

1) What is Infrared?

Infrared is light energy. Infrared energy has wavelengths between about 750 nm and 1 mm. Infrared rays are longer than Ultraviolet rays but shorter than microwaves of energy. The light energy from Infrared is used regularly by scientists to measure heat radiation. All things innate beings including living creatures give off energy wavelengths that can be measured with infrared devices like cameras.

Scientists, astronauts, astronomers and doctors regularly use infrared technology to enhance their studies and practices. Cameras, telescopes, wireless transmitters, remote controls, night vision sensors and even weather satellites use infrared imaging.

2) What is Far Infrared?

Far Infrared is also light energy. Far infrared is the name given to the longer infrared energy waves. Far Infrared (FIR) is known as thermal energy - gives off heat.

Far Infrared rays are becoming more accepted among health professionals as a very beneficial tool for healing and prevention and alternative therapies.

3) What is the difference between Near Infrared & Far Infrared?
Near infrared rays Mid Infrared Ray Far Infrared Rays
  • short in length
  • closest to visible light
  • about 0.7 - 1.1 microns
  • have no warmth
  • used in remote control devices
  • average length
  • about 3 - 5 microns
  • used for thermal imaging
  • long in length
  • closest to microwaves
  • about 7 - 14 microns
  • emits thermal energy
  • used in Sauna's and clothing fabrics
  • easily absorbed by human cells
4) How deep does Far Infrared penetrate the skin?

Far-infrared can penetrate up to 4 cm (about 1½ inches),

5) When was Far Infrared from minerals discovered?

Far Infrared energy emitted from clay silicates and minerals was accidentally discovered in 1970 at a ancient ceramic factory in China. Medical health tests of a number of the workers showed far better levels of health than expected even though they were working in what was considered mucky and "poor" mired conditions.  Tests of the muddy clays around the factory showed high levels of the 33 essential minerals needed for the human body. Specific combinations of these minerals were shown to emit far infrared energy wave.

6) What are Bio-Ceramics?

The bio-ceramics are made up of a special formula of natural lead free stones and minerals (like Silica Oxide (SiO2 and Jade). These bio-ceramics emit far infrared rays (FIR).

7) How are Bio-Ceramics made?
  • 26 kinds of ceramics with various mineral oxides are mixed together.
  • When mixed together these materials naturally emit FIR (Far Infrared Rays)
  • Mixture is then heated together at 1600'C. Once cooled the formula is then called "Bio-Ceramics"
  • Bio-Ceramics are capable of emitting FIR (Far Infrared Rays) Also know as biogenetic rays.
8) How do clothes give off Far Infrared?

Bio-Ceramics are ground into a powder that can easily be fused into a variety of polypropylene fibers. These special fibers are then spun into threads and used to make garment fabrics and other textiles.

9) Will the Bio-Ceramics diminish with washing?

No, the bio-ceramics will not wash out. The FIR emitted from the thread does not decrease from being washed and will last for several years.
